Center for Physiology und Pharmakology

While Physiology is the study of the functions of living organisms and their parts, Pharmacology is the study of the interactions that occur between a living organism and chemicals that affect either normal or abnormal function. Accordingly, work in the Center for Physiology and Pharmacology (CPP) is dedicated to research and education concerning normal and abnormal functions of healthy or diseased organisms and interactions of the latter with molecules, be it therapeutic drugs or toxins. In our focus of interest are the cardiovascular system and the nervous and sensory system. Research spans from the investigation of molecular structures to the exploration of complex behavior.
